The data

Every number we print, and where it came from

Every story is built on a small set of data. Each row below lists that story’s files, ready to download, and where the numbers first came from. Each story’s data page explains how the data was made and what we are still checking. All of it is free to use in class.

Files

Original sources

  • TyC Sports post-match interview, 9 December 2022
  • FIFA match report, for the date
  • Buenos Aires Times, for the cards
  • Bandura, Ross and Ross (1961), Journal of Abnormal and Social Psychology, 63(3)
  • Bandura (1965), Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, 1(6)

How we handle data

The same four rules for every story

Every figure has a source

Each dataset names where it came from, with a link where one exists.

Estimates are labelled

If we timed or counted something ourselves, we say so and say how exact it is.

Checks are public

Anything still being confirmed is listed on the story’s data page until it is settled.

Free to reuse

Students and teachers can download and use every file, with a credit to The Replay Lab.
